Yesterday, I went to the Trans Rights Pride march, and it was awesome. The speakers spoke about lack of access to life-saving trans healthcare in rural communities, the history of colonial violence against Indigenous people, and of course, about Palestine.
Today was the mainstream Pride Parade, sponsored by TD Bank, with a float from CIJA and Boeing as a corporate sponsor. I didn't go, I had zero reason to want to attend that, because why the fuck would I?
And now it's been met with a blockade. My first reaction was "oh shit, the homophobes are upping the ante", but nope! It's other queer people like me protesting rainbow capitalism and pinkwashing!
Fucking good, honestly.
