playing around with markers again recently
I Sorely need more purple markers lol I need to try to hunt some down again
I feel like as of the last few years making art has been a lot more accessible? I see sketchbooks and alcohol markers in phys stores far more often than I used to. very common are sketchbooks specifically with black paper too, which seemed pretty rare a few years ago
and I don't mean like dedicated art stores, those always had them, but just general places for stationary
it's even more glaring visiting my teeny hometown, where the closest thing to a sketchbook I could have was One Specific unlined notebook that was so narrow it was uncomfortable to use, and now you can get a proper sketchbook. if it's available there, you can easily get a sketchbook anywhere
(also note this is from perspective of a citizen of a poorer region of russia lol my experience is probably extremely specific)
anyway my cheap-ass set has plenty of reds, oranges, like four yellows, greens and blues, but only like a magenta and One violet this is a travesty
mixing colors is a weird science. you Can just combine colors technically but that doesn't Completely save you from needing more marker variety because markers can also override your applied color
I tried going with a lighter blue and purple and it ended up looking like the Disney sleeping beauty dress lol
