Over the past year I've gotten to a point where I like the aesthetics of obvious CGI the same way I like obvious practical effects. I don't like the abuse of it in Marvel-esque blockbusters to circumvent labor protections, but overall I don't need everything to look real to me anymore, especially as my brain inevitably learns to recognize CGI as fast as it advances. I've come to terms with modern sci-fi and fantasy looking like mixed-media cartoons and that's kinda cool, actually.
