I'm so fucking sick of the increasing defense of AI art I'm seeing online. like, I am fucking exhausted. I see arguments like "well if you're against this, you must think IP law is good actually" and no motherfucker! I think you are violating a social contract if you take something while assuming permission to feed it into the Content Sludge Production Machine! I think that if you use that machine willingly, that if you pay to access that machine especially, you're being kind of a shithead motherfucker
"all art should be creative commons" fuck you! I don't even get a say in how my writing is used if I put it anywhere online at this point! nobody consults me! nobody asks if I'm cool with this shit! and like if an individual person goes "hey can I write a spinoff or sequel to this" I am more inclined to say yes than if they said "hey can I feed your work to the Content Sludge Production Machine" because at least in one case a person is the one involved and not a machine designed to profit off me without my consent or even involvement

sick to bastard death of being told what side of a situation I should be on when I don't even have a fucking choice, you know? from one side I have people saying that it's inevitable so why should I be bothered by this and from the other side I have people saying that the things I fucking create should belong to everyone to do with as they please and I'm wondering where either fucking group gets off, you know?
though my own hands, my own thoughts and actions, from a very personal place, I create things! and I share those things sometimes freely and openly, but they are still personal things! even the fucking smut! I do not think it is even remotely presumptuous of me to say "hey, at least fucking ask first" but no, apparently I don't matter in this whole process!
and then people go ahead and wonder why some people look at the situation and feel less inclined to create shit
