so much beef in Texas. so little döner kebab made from it.

I actually did try to make döner from scratch a while ago, but without a food processor the beef came out like taco meat. Since then I've entertained the thought of a Tex-Mex döner. Leavened corn bread stuffed with fajita-seasoned meat, lettuce, onions, bell peppers, and salsa. If I were a better chef I would manifest this drool-worthy fantasy into reality, but alas.

1x8 "Business Time"

  • Business zombies are a pretty funny concept.

  • The gauntlet running scene was a pretty cool single-shot sequence.

  • Hotdog Princess may be my favorite princess in the series design-wise.

  • One on hand: the business zombies are efficient to the point of evil. On the other hand: they are capable unionizers against their employers, so I gotta respect them for that.

1x9 "My Two Favorite People"

  • As a unicorn lover, I adore Lady Rainicorn. Her dynamic with Jake is fun too. I'm afraid there's not much for me to comment on, though.

1x10 "Memories of Boom Boom Mountain"

  • I think Adventure Time's aesthetics are at their best when they try to emulate a medieval setting.

  • The crying mountain is adorable, and I can totally relate as a hypersensitive person. Probably one of my favorite one-off characters so far.

  • Oh Finn adoption lore. Cool

I rarely quite understand what people mean when they criticize a piece of media for being 'baby's first symbolism.' Like yes, there are cliched symbols that lose value through mindless repetition, but most of the time the criticism just seems to be that the symbolism is easy to understand? Like oh, the average audience member with the intended cultural background can understand this story without referencing an appendix of esoteric knowledge every 5 minutes. How terrible it is that this art is accessible to the plebians. How dare a creator with something to say also wish to be understood.
