my friend asked me a few nights ago if i knew why the moon had a blue-red halo around it. I poked around, including on an astronomical optics website, and it appears that the human eye has some amount of chromatic aberration, with 'green' wavelengths as the peak sensitivity according to this SE post. It also claims our brains pretty much automatically correct for it 90% of the time which is neat - I wonder why the moon is an exception.
