It’s hard to say exactly when it happened. The first to notice were the astronomers of the world, who grew increasingly concerned as they discovered case after case of their peers’ equipment producing the exact same “errors” as their own. What started out as an eerie coincidence was clearly something more… and it only took a few days for that to turn into worldwide panic.

The inexplicable now-nightly fullness of the moon had drastic effects on nearly everyone. One such effect was the near-instant discovery of the existence of werecreatures by the general public (after a night of unscheduled, unexpected transformations, awkward explanations, and, of course, ruined outfits). The lunar cycles these lycanthropes had paid such close attention to for so long… simply no longer existed. No matter where they were on Earth, they now transformed every single night. Hiding it just wasn’t possible anymore.

Actually, this revelation, and the subsequent unveiling of other supernatural phenomena to the public, helped people come to terms with the lunar anomaly much more easily. Everything going crazy all at once somehow made each individual thing seem not so crazy. It didn’t take nearly as long as you might expect for the apocalypse talk to mostly die down.

But back to the werecreatures! While many were overjoyed at the increase in opportunities to take on their full-moon forms, the recently-turned (a demographic now growing faster than a werewolf’s fur) bemoaned the muscle strain brought on by changes to which they hadn’t yet become accustomed. This didn’t last long, fortunately, but those first few days of full-body aches and fatigue were rough. Because of the increased time to practice, and out of necessity, werecreatures gradually learned how to control their transformations, marking yet another paradigm shift in the community.

There is much more to be said about the Everfull (as it’s come to be called) and its effects on different groups. None have been more miserable than the scientists, for example, who, try as they might, can’t account for the lunar cycle’s frozen state. In a similar boat are the witches (though they don’t mind being socially accepted and whatnot), who (ironically) spent their first full-moon months in a witch-hunt, trying to figure out who among them had messed up some big spell and caused all this in the first place.

I hesitate, though, to go into much detail for these other groups. I’m not a scientist, and only recently took up witchcraft… I can’t speak to their experiences. Only my own.
