thinking a lot about touhou is a part of us in a way that a lot of our other interests can't be, not in the same way. maybe we'll feel differently about it in a few years, but we've gotten into touhou at a pretty pivotal time in our life, and it's dug deeply into our identity on a core level, in a way that isn't easily forgotten or allowed to fade. coming to understand and connect with a series about a bunch of flamboyant lesbians who manage feelings of disconnection from society/humanity and who embody a femininity without traditional bounds or norms is the kind of thing that'll hit you hard when you're just starting your transition, and when it goes on to become the language for how you express your self.
