Inform 7 is pretty fun. I spent like 6 hours (probably way too long, keeping interest wise) figuring out how to make scents and burning things working and then all I ended up doing was making a scented candle instead of my lofty and unattainable "make the candles interact with the sky" or whatever ritualistic nonsense I wanna build up to. learning tools is hard but im forcing myself to do simple things so maybe this is doable
sadly i also didn't really write good prose in the thing because I was so occupied with getting all the mechanics and semantics figured out. I hope that once I understand this better my writing will end up shining more as I need to dedicate less of my brainpower to getting it working at all...
