covid is extremely fucking contagious but it is not an inevitability. if you take the proper steps to protect yourself when someone you're close to or live with gets it, there's a surprisingly high chance you'll manage to avoid it, speaking from personal experience. Even just opening up some windows, running some fans to control the general flow of air if you have any, has saved me. You don't need a lot to have a chance of protecting yourself from covid as long as your people give enough of a shit to actually take the steps needed in your household.
