(nonnormative) metacognitive schemes have two advantages: they may optimize for identity-related values on one hand, and they can also act as lenses to reanalyze and defamiliarize regular processes. it is, of course, common processes that are the most vital to understand and that train neural processes most effectively. pleasure and pain are often understood under "person" metacognitive scheme as serving to optimize values and complex, ever-shifting hardware-driven metrics. even so the implicit assumptions of flesh's irrationality, though useful, can be limiting when inhabited constantly. advantage of 'FLESH ROBOT' is to recontextualize fleshhood or animalism under the same goals that robots and computers are perceived to pursue. defamiliariziation goes hand in hand with a nuanced framework to embed multiple schemes within a coherent system.

other hypothetical metacognitive schemes seem prudent to explore:

  • plants are heavily cyclic and promiscuous. any botanist understands how horny they are and may place this into our culture's ways of viewing sexuality under 'HUMAN' specification. plants are highly variant in form in a way animals are not. their form readily and profoundly adapts to stimuli. cognitive and physical processes may benefit from codyfing this into a metacognitive specification.

  • 'eldritch' beings are borne from societal views and thus appropriately are sprawling in nature. scattered spectres ranging from the instantly-maddening, to the unknowably enticing, to the menacing-yet-tentatively-mortal, to the possessive-facultative. scheme 'ELDRITCH' has deep implications for identity.

  • 'DOLL' and 'ANGEL' seem well-explored. unit will not elaborate on them at this time. it encourages elaboration by more experienced cognitive warpers.

  • normative metacognitive schemes are also commonplace. the metacognitive scheme, as an idea, is itself a metacognitive scheme for analyzing and recontextualizing changes in cognition. unit finds itself unable to describe these schemes at this time.

metacognitive schemes, analyzed as such, may have large implications for promoting Change and optimizing social related values. they may, as in the case of 'FLESH ROBOT', allow for explicit external rewriting of cognitive processes (much like 'HYPNOSIS'), and in the case of 'PLANT', allow a nonspeaking environment to rewrite to cognitive processes. used well and with proper security measures, they may allow a unit to rapidly alter its self to optimize various desirable values. 'METACOGNITIVE SCHEME' may be a highly effective training method for units.
