Kinda glad Cohost doesn't have DMs. Back in the day I used to frequent forums and, because I was a dumb kid, I tended to get myself in trouble a lot. As a result I have a fear of PMs/DMs because I associate them with infractions and temp bans.

That's fair. Though I do wish there was an easier way to share chosts with other people and other small chats. Maybe there could be a share with user feature and maybe a way to answer asks privately if that's not already a thing. Also I think a good way around that would maybe have it so if there's a private ask, the person who sent the ask could comment on the response and they could have a conversation that way
