A newly realized dragon who's managed to shapeshift back into her old human form so she can go interact in human society, but can tell that even in that shape things are different, now. She's trying very hard to keep the smoke of her flame held in while delivering a report to her boss. As she concentrates on something, her tail absent-mindedly pops back out, curling unconsciously around a chair leg. Her best friend tells her she looks a little different -- "sharper" "more confident", asks her if shes doing a new skincare routine or somerhing.

She comes home, closes her apartment door, and relaxes somewhat, feeling her wings and snout immediately return. She's different, now. Even on two legs, even in her old shape, everything is different -- her senses sharper, a flame gently flickering in her chest.

But it's not a bad kind of difference. She'll have to get used to it, and contend with new challenges and stresses -- but knowing, at last, what she is, and the relief, peace, and serenity she feels when she does get the chance to revert to her true, bestial form, makes it all worth it.

She will never be truly human again -- and she is all the happier for it.
