I would recommend the Quest 3 but I genuinely think it's a better idea to save up for a dedicated PCVR and PC components then it is to give your info to Meta
i was looking at a quest because frankly i got no other options pricewise. non-oculus VR is basically "lol. lmao" pricey here. i was thinking of basically doing some kinda quest 2 pcvr jailbreaky dealio of some sort. especially since a lot of what i want to do is play PCVR games on steam
Hey, hey, hey - I thought the same thing until I found the HP Reverb G2 -- they run you back about the same as a Quest (or even less, at <=$300 USD!) if you buy one used off Ebay. I'm planning on grabbing one in a few months for a birthday present, so I don't have direct experience with it, but from what I've seen it should be a really good alternative!
Used electronics shopping is way more of a shit show and there's way less supply in the Philippines and the listings I'm seeing are for triple what the quest 2 from the big retailer's back stock I was looking at was listed at
Gotta remember I'm not american and I have a much narrower choice in sources and outlets and the used market is way dicier and harder to access
Ahh, well.. sorry about that. I wish it were easier to ship things intercontinental from the US, but all the regulations mean it's only cheap the other way around. Jailbreaking a Quest seems like another really good option, though - I might try that if my other plan doesn't work out for some reason (as you said, used electronics markets are difficult.) Hope you find what you're looking for out of what you can get your hands on :)

i upgraded the entire rest of my setup a few months back - ram, storage, CPU is all good for VR. hell the CPU is kind of overkill i have a fuckin... ryzen 8 5800x. but im still heavily GPU bottlenecked because holy SHIT the prices here
