every so often someone makes the post that goes like "cartoons aren't real! they're fiction! they don't consent! they can't be underage!" and it's like you know this is a weird thing to say unprompted right
I always feel that the post is not in fact unprompted but very "prompted" indeed and the original poster just got caught with sketchy porn and we're getting like half the story in the form of a post that looks like a general political statement but is actually a subtweet
It's always an uncomfortable justification, but as long as those people are keeping it to just fantasy characters I don't worry about it too much. I hope if they start having impulses beyond that, they seek help. Better yet, start getting help before then. We need to de-stigmatize people getting help.
It also skeeves me out out whenever someone is going after people that are freshly 18 or whatever the age of consent is in their country, wanting people "fresh" or "untainted" 🤮
I can read this you know. and I actively made an effort NOT to harrass that person or send a mob on them, by only talking to them directly and not calling them by name. it was them who made the conversation public
