finished Oxenfree II: Lost Signals on stream earlier tonight! I have extremely mixed feelings on it because I found most of it pretty unenjoyable ngl but the ending (or at least the PONR state I got) is extremely well-written and tragic and interesting, esp for returning players

lmao this is pretty much the exact reverse as my feelings on oxenfree 1 (nice overall, ending soured everything for me) so now im almost curious to play this new one
oh if you didn't like the first game's ending, I don't think you'll like this one lmao; it primarily concerns itself with the first game's ending, in fact. I thought OX1 was, despite some notable weakpoints (namely teenage dialogue clearly written by adults), consistently solid all the way through. clear characters and motivations, good dripfeed of lore. OX2... the last ~hour is emotionally impactful and narratively interesting and I found the rest to be a total slog
