researching card-based videogames has led me to start playing actual card games and this one—Sakura Arms—is the closest to the kind of design I like yet. the two big gimmicks are having various types of meter you can spend to transfer between, and also instead of being completely open ended in deck building, you pick two characters that have their own singular unique mechanic and build your deck from a subset of their cards. feels like a very good way to make the deck's goal easy to understand, while still ultimately having a lot of room to experiment with.
