I'm curious about the layout, I thought fighting game had a lot of super with half circle and quarter circle but looking at this one (the art is amazing) I get the feeling both index would collide and you either don't get access to the 4th left/direction button or the second row right/action button?
This is a pretty standard layout for leverless controllers! You put your left index finger on right, your left thumb on jump, and then your right hand like normal with the index on X and thumb on A. It feels pretty natural and doesn't take long to get used to! Actually, the only thing I had to get used to with leverless is that your inputs come out MUCH faster compared to other controllers you have to rush on.

Thanks! I somehow assumed the big button was for the right hand which screwed how I approaches the thing. This make lot of sense :D
