statistical image generation is just the end goal of Algorithmic Content — it doesn't matter that someone made it, if someone made it, or even what it is, just that it is something, and ideally appeals to the lowest common denominator. google investing in this junk while owning youtube is not unlike uber investing heavily in self-driving cars. humans are costly and messy; imagine if we could just generate vapid video essays about nothing, bookend them with generated ads for coke, and keep all the money for ourselves
