this post brought to you by the Very Fucking Sleepy Bitch Foundationmy insomnia is mild but I heard studies showed that laying down in a dark room and closing your eyes is very restful for your body, so when I can't sleep I just lay there and genuinely I'm fine the next day. ever since I started doing that I've had less insomnia, or less effect from it.
oh yeah, i have like a 50% success rate with this. i usually have to bust out a podcast so i don't Succumb To Madness just lying there with my thoughts... usually an old episode of something i've already heard before so it's not a boring retread but also isn't novel enough to keep me awake. very often works! but today's result was still Shambling Wreck ๐ซ i think it also has a lot to do with the length of time i actually do get to sleep... you come out of the wrong part of a cycle and it's like welp that's it the battle is lost lkdsfghfdjs
yeah I think this method works best for light cases like mine. I could absolutely see eight hours of that being terrible ๐
LOL yeah mine is pretty severe... i know people who have it worse but i'm at the level where like, i should probably be using Ambien or something, it's just maybe-contraindicated for me for other reasons lol
i've learned lots of tricks though. my other go-to is Getting Cold. if it's winter i will literally just go stand on the porch in my pajamas for a few minutes until i'm shivering. ooooo body you want to be in the warm blankies soooooooooooo bad ooooooooooooooooooooo
