played against another Plat 2 marisa except they had the title "Practicing a Sub Character" and it was pretty interesting. they had clearly learned the combos, the basic neutral tools but it was funny watching them try to raw drive rush low kick like 'i'm sorry we don't actually get anything off of that, try again', or realizing they don't actually know the spacing of our normals. the cherry on top was when they tried to wakeup lvl 3 when i had them in the corner and it whiffed entirely. i'm not sure what lvl 3 you're used to but ours has a shit hitbox



After building my last hitbox, I scrapped the prototype I had been using and made something a little more custom for myself. I noticed that my left hand really didn't like how far apart the push buttons were and tried to figure out how I could do big squishy push buttons for the right hand and precise, responsive buttons for the left hand.

Very interesting project, effectively my first time cutting out a mortise and tenon with a chisel, then adding a second channel to hold the piece the keyboard switches sat on. This let me have nicely recessed buttons, instead of simply sitting on the top.

The keeb seat was interesting in itself, trying to measure and hand cut something that would properly seat a standard keyboard switch, with the proper spacing, and then creating a hole big enough for all the keycaps to come through in the main piece.

Really happy with the outcome!



soldering free floating wires onto contacts continues to be terrible and a pain. did 11 points of contact in 45 mins which doesn't seem terrible but also doesn't seem great. the helping hands i got helped a lot but a part of me still wishes i had some sticky tack. all of this is fine for this prototyping phase probably but i should find a better way to do this.
