The scariest thing about improvement, is that it will usually appear bad whilst you learn

This is the nature of training all skills, but to those who don't regularly strive to improve themselves it is perceived as regression

I am reminding myself of this before I go into some very experimental drawing practice, so that I'm not too harsh on myself

reminding myself of this as I de-rank to Plat 5 trying to integrate better anti-airs and combo paths

played against another Plat 2 marisa except they had the title "Practicing a Sub Character" and it was pretty interesting. they had clearly learned the combos, the basic neutral tools but it was funny watching them try to raw drive rush low kick like 'i'm sorry we don't actually get anything off of that, try again', or realizing they don't actually know the spacing of our normals. the cherry on top was when they tried to wakeup lvl 3 when i had them in the corner and it whiffed entirely. i'm not sure what lvl 3 you're used to but ours has a shit hitbox
