the gifter didn't remember
A: where it came from B: what games were modded onto it C: where the controller was
so it was just sitting around being the only emulation station who's owner actually stopped talking about it. can hardly use it without a controller
in attempting to find a first-party controller, since i've had some bad experiences with third-party SNES pads, i went to mercari. truly the Oops All Berries of online shopping
i found a listing for a $25ish factory OEM model controller, which the pics looked legit. so i ordered it, paid for shipping too.
as soon as it arrived it was instantly clear i had been fooled into buying a fucking caveman's controller

so this controller is a hunk of crap innit
the text is cheap. the surface feels like wet sandpaper (derogatory)
the controller is supposed to read SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM and not whatever this is. hrm.
perhaps we should crack open this naughty boy (derogatory [non-horny])
let's take a look inside and see what's wrong

ah! well!
this isn't just fake it's like tier 2 fake. special fake. contraband fake.
there are no daughterboards for the triggers. the wires connect to the board and then lead nowhere. the board was upside down in the shell when first opened it
this controller could NEVER work
thankfully, the customer service at berryworld agreed so i was able to get a return and refund. since then, i was able to get a limited edition club nintendo SNES-classic-controller from the Wii era, seen here

this works great on the SNES classic, which i have now booted up. let's take a look! see if it's modd-

POKEMON PRISM?!
