it wouldn't be a proper chost if it wasn't also like a blog post, so some lore below the fold:
All the PolyWolf images I make myself are very special to me. It's not just from the satisfaction of having made something and seeing myself improve at something (very slowly, but proportional to effort put in); it goes a bit deeper than that.
As early as December 20201, I've used pictures of myself to create pose references to draw from2, tweaking the anatomy to be more female because that's just who PolyWolf "the character" is. Wouldn't you know, I felt an indescribable sense of excitement when I could see and have agency over changing my physical proportions into "a fictional representation of me". i was such a clueless egg holy cow
This cluelessness held even for the above piece: I started it in October 2022, which was juuust before the cracks in my egg really started to show in December. Now, after finally having figured out "oh wait I'm trans aren't I", it's relieving to be able to recontextualize my feelings (about metaphorically turning myself into PolyWolf) as somewhat normal given the circumstances.
