For being so simple it took me a good ten seconds to get it, I have literally only done a Picross once before for @blackle 's puzzle box

how i solved this: testing the 2s position stepwise until the 1 1 position worked

But it falls easy prey to my cheater technique - input is left/right symmetrical, AND I am expected to be able to solve it THEREFORE result must be symmetrical. Surprising how often this rule is helpful.

I had to look up what a picross/nonogram is =)
