one way to do this correctly would be to just delete all the body covered by outfit, which would both cut a HUGE amount of vertices out of the model, and solve my problem with the body and outfit being out of sync.

but I don't want to do that. I wanna be able to reuse this Luné model with a different outfit down the road (without recreating large portions of the mesh). and I don't like faking geometry quite that hard, I wanna have to work a bit at keeping different meshes synced up. I did, however, delete a lot of parts of the outfit mesh covered up by other parts of the outfit, though.
