I've been cleaning up my contacts list recently. Clearing out some old contacts I don't talk to anymore, adding some new ones for people I'd like to keep in touch with if some of my current channels blow up, and (most fun for me) making some new contact groups to bucket people into different significant eras of my life.

I've heard people say this before so I won't take full credit for the thought (I will also blame weed for turning me philosophical), but it really was a betrayal when apps/sites (Facebook especially!) started making it common to just hand this treasure trove of personal information over. Like, I have a pile of emails and phone numbers and other handles here, given to me specifically. Given to me to contact people, not given to hand out. Glad to know better now, I guess.
