I found a new neovim statusbar plugin to use, but I've been fully focused on the storage stuff and haven't had enough time to tinker. so slow progress but not a ton.
sheena's getting the dotfiles manually ported over just so it's not as jarring to work on / I can see that things work cross platform. it'll be done by git eventually (and the new files are in a repo though tbh I have not been committing consistently).
