used a humanity, reversed hollowing, took the screenshot. got invaded. waited around a bit to see if they showed up. they did not. I got warped to the Gwyndolin fight (already cleared in the save) for the death cutscene, and received the corresponding amount of souls. then I was able to just warp away and leave. dunno what happened or what happened with the invader.
