becoming trans during it definitely part of why I say that, but mostly these games are compelling to me in a way very little else is. even if I spend half my time with DS2 bitching about it 😜
there's just such a compelling "something kicks my ass, I learn how it works, I learn to kick IT'S ass instead" loop in these. the tragic worlds and the unique trickling out of lore isn't lost on me, but if you make me pick one thing it's the combat loop, and how it makes me feel about myself as I watch myself improve.
