currently watching The Bourne Legacy. I mostly remember hearing it wasn't nearly as good as the earlier ones.
kind of weird to watch in general because everyone involved is someone I should be rooting against (except I guess Bourne because tearing up spy agencies from the inside is good)

a plot beat in this one is the CIA burning down [NEW TREADSTONE] by killing a bunch of their own agents which I guess is supposed to be bad but.... again.... US spies.
also going ??? at having a bunch of people in the kinds of countries you'd expect suddenly drop dead as being the best way to wrap a field op, but I guess if you assume perfect deep-cover fieldwork (very lmao with the modern CIA) and some magic spy pills that look like a brain hemorrhage or something it's just barely plausible.
mr. not jason bourne shot down a predator drone with a sniper rifle so that's cool.
some very normal things are happening (loose ends I guess)
the thing I'm gonna say about this movie is it just doesn't have the like, heart the earlier ones did. it feels like they're trying to do Identity and Supremacy in one but worse.
