byso the lesson I'm learning is trees are of the devil and I should just never permit my dwarves to be outside for any reason, because if anyone's out there it's hell trying to get them burrowed and the bridge up in time.
other things I need to internalize for next fortress (this one isn't gone yet this is just a bad sign)
- IMMEDIATELY add new migrants to the "please be inside" burrow
- actually learn how to train soldiers
- think further ahead when digging the initial fortress and more aggressively expand space.
since the goblins are now sealed in but also sealed away from me, I'm going to attempt to set up a system to flood them and see how that goes. I have some water in my cistern to try with.
