i use inoreader! free plan gets you 150 feeds you can add, which im only just starting to reach zhe limits of after using it for like 2 years

not free but cheap. self-hostable. no native phone app, but you can pin a webpage like you're probably doing for cohost. been using it for months without issue.

If self-hosting is an option,Tiny Tiny RSS is (in my experience) well-regarded and gives you syncing etc for free by virtue of being hosted on a web server. There are also Android and (unofficial) iOS apps.

There may be other options that offer the same capabilities without requiring a server, but I would have to do more research to find out.

so, I've not looked into it yet, but someone was saying there is a reader called 'feedbro' that also has a browser extension version. This would at least be the same reader on both computer and phone(through firefox or whatever), but I'm not sure if it would sync the history for you. I too would like this functionality, so if I find it I'll report back
