a daily open discord call is such a perfect incubator for new rituals and affectations. it's dangerous. when people outside my social circle announce they're leaving i have to resist my reflexive urge say "goodbye forever" like i do in my encapsulated discord group. some day i will say it by accident to my parents or my boss and they will be concerned.
