punny title, but also true: Salt Lake City is a weird, weird place. never have I been to a town with so many proud queers stomping through the city streets in Docs, heads held high, juxtaposed against so many conservatives, almost all of whom are Mormon. I went to the Mormon Tabernacle and their museum (my partner is ex-Mormon; we went for amusement) and I wore a dress in 30 degree weather with half a foot of snow on the ground just so I could show off my new faggot tattoo on my calf.
I get why people are so defiantly visible there, and I love it. It's just strange to see; I can't imagine it in any other red state I've ever lived in.
