So tried out KSP2 a few days ago after getting gifted a copy, and it's... well, it's real rough as it stands, to the point that I simply uninstalled it. Actually launching a craft was near-impossible with my system specs, and a lot of pretty important stuff - such as, apparently, a drag model that takes fairings into account - is missing.
However, that's not what this post is about. My attempting it got a friend to try it for themselves on a much more capable rig, and they've done a much more thorough analysis, but that got both of us in the mood to play the original KSP - with plenty of mods, of course.
And that's caused me to look through my extensive screenshot folder(s), reflecting on previous missions, craft, and occasional tomfoolery. Here's a few highlights! (Details in image descriptions.)
Have some shots of a recent two-craft Eve mission!
The first craft is an orbiter, with multispectral, visible-light, and basic altimetry instruments on board. It's designed to make a map of the surface, identifying sites of interest on the surface below.
The second craft has two parts: an orbiting relay satellite, to provide long-range communications, and a compact lander to explore the surface.
And turns out, the Parallax mod adds quite the ground scatter to Eve!
