The lack of terminological precision surrounding the word "disabled" in the context of discussions about COVID-19 has always been a bit… striking to me. There's a lot of people who aren't classified as disabled by society who'd die from a single round of COVID-19, but also a fair number of people who are disabled who'd fare better than literally the median person, so—
I guess this is why I personally prefer to use "medically high-risk" or similar terms? Like, using "people who are categorically at heightened risk from COVID-19", even if tautological, seems like the most precise way of referring to… … …people who are at elevated risk from COVID-19 for medical reasons.
