in conclusion I'm cool and everyone else is wrong! next time some allegedly normal person asks silly questions about my hobbies I can link them this and shake my head mockingly
I mentioned buying blu-rays to one of my coworkers (the same one who thinks AI is genuinely sentient) and he said if a movie wasn't on streaming I should just go to 123movies or whatever the hell and watch it there ๐
I never know what to say to people who say stuff like that as an overly sarcastic "OH REALLY? piracy is a thing that exists? I HAD NO IDEA THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME" seems to offend people
I usually fall back on something along the lines of "they all look/sound like garbage, I don't wanna get viruses" etc but I should probably switch to the more honest "I like having the little box and the little disc and putting the disc in the thing and hearing it go vrrrr and the movie happens"
Go with that with a side of "if you don't understand why someone would like this then you're strange and boring"
