the way cats greet by headbutting and will also learn that your hand is what you "headbutt" with (because you're a human and most humans are too tall to headbutt most house cats) so the way you greet a cat is basically to punch them in the face very gently

the hand is also what feeds them (like a mom cat's mouth) and picks/brushes/pets their fur, etc. cats may think our head is actually our hand.
we greet other humans by bumping fists gently.
they do look at your eyes though (and the "slow blink" seems to translate), and if they get up high enough they'll facebump or sniff around your nose/mouth if you let them, I like to think they're just not smart enough to be confused and go for whatever's closest
I guess that's kind of like fist bumps, you could also do a european cheek kiss or a hand shake or a bro nod or whatever depending on the situation and the people involved
the way (most) cats get real weirded out when we hug them or give them little kissies on their forehead like an emo teenager who's embarrassed by it.
