These Are All The Same Fucking Picture.

You can't tell these apart from more than a few feet away, or on someone's shoulder in a webcast, or anything.

It's just so... bland. It's "corporate identity" shit. Here with US missions, we get a whole wealth of variety in mission patches, 'cause the team themselves design them, they're not dictated by a graphical standard to adhere with a brand, like it really appears is the case here.

There's so much color and even like, so many shapes! not just circles!

and at least three of these missions have separate, equally canonical patch designs, but look at the diversity here! you can tell these apart!

in reply to @lupi's post:

oh, i love a lot of "unofficial" patches, and the ones I have in my keep are some of my favorites.

I was specifically in this case trying to make apples-to-apples comparisons of Canonical ESA Mission Emblems to Canonical NASA Mission Emblems to kinda show how... bland, the ESA's mission patches are.

And even the non-canonical-still-official patches, like the ones produced by the 45th Space Wing/Space Launch Delta 45, and 1ROPS within them as Launch Team Patches, some of those are absolute treats. Their TESS patch was better than the official ones, for example.

The LROPS patch for NROL-101 is even better than the official one. it's 101 dalmations theme!

Once i refresh my supply of poster putty, i'll have to re-hang all the patches that've fallen from my patch wall. It documents everything i've seen from my first launch in 2016 all the way to my 1 year anniversary of moving here
