Rounding out today's labor law trifecta, the NLRB has found merit to unfair labor practice charges made last year by the Bird Union against the Audubon Society—and according to the Bird Union "will issue a complaint [...] detailing multiple violations of federal labor law—including failure to provide information" against the nonprofit.

There seem to be three distinct charges that have been made against the Audubon Society across two complaints. In the first complaint, the Bird Union alleges that Audubon has refused to negotiate in good faith with the union in any capacity; and it also alleges that the nonprofit violated the National Labor Relations Act when it changed the healthcare benefits of members of the Bird Union. In the second complaint, they allege a failure to provide information to the union such as organizational financial details. Based on the Bird Union description, it seems likely the NLRB has found merit to all three charges—and certainly to the charge that Audubon has failure to provide information.

The NLRB's ruling comes as Audubon continues to try and break the union: recently non-unionized staff were extended benefits that unionized staff were not. Across the 28 bargaining sessions between the union and Audubon to this point, Audubon has refused all of the union's proposals while making no counter-offers to them.
