switching from opera to vivaldi because opera put some GPT bullshit on my laptop's install and started using 100% of a core constantly to, apparently, be ready to suggest I "rephrase like Yoda" when I select text
vivaldi also uses a shitload of cpu power but at least it's in service of a nicely designed, if slowly coded, user interface
and what a UI! it's so customizable. it feels respectful. it's pretty fast on my desktop. good browser

Hopefully they've made it more stable and performant since I tried it a year ago; the fancy pretty UI (coded in JavaScript iirc?) made scrolling stuttery, made interacting with the UI slow in general, and iirc also occasionally locked up the entire browser.
there might be some minor improvements but honestly i think it might just need a real fast computer. modern software babey woo yea
vivaldi owns so much despite still being chromium, when opera went to shit years ago i was despairingly using chrome, the vivaldi announcement "hey we're the real opera team" was music to my ears
