I take rocket photos and you can see them @aWildLupi

I have a terminal case of bovine pungiform encephalopathy, the bovine puns are cowmpulsory

they/them/moo where "moo" stands in for "you" or where it's funny, like "how are moo today, Lupi?" or "dancing with mooself"

I do rocket launch photography, you can see more of it (including my most recent shots!) on @aWildLupi or purchase prints on my gallery site! Not all of my recent work is on there, my backlog is immense and my ability to work through it is greatly outpaced by the rate at which more rockets launch and add to it these days.

I do some other photography as well, but while I'm working on my backlog, I had to put a lot of that, all the airshow stuff and pictures of birds, beaches, sunrises, etc, off to one side.

I also run a blog called LaunchRats to help people see a launch for themselves! If you're ever on the Space Coast, there's a good chance you'll be able to catch one and I'd be happy to lend a hoof to that.

I think those are more of a Wallops thing, but to my knowledge sometimes they do 'em off LC-46, which is best seen from Cocoa Beach. Getting advanced knowledge of those, though... that's beyond me, that requires more connections than I have. Or folks who know how to read the filings.

I always find out about the Trident submarine-based test launches after the fact, the sound doesn't carry as well when they're launched out at sea.

More than out of the Eastern range, they're generally out of Vandenberg, which is well outside my field of knowledge. If you know Laz/Rocketdrag, they're good beans to ask about it.

The last Minuteman-adjacent launch I can remember happening out of the eastern range was the Orion Ascent-Abort 2 test, which took place before I lived here.

It was using a Minuteman stage in an aerodynamic fairing to loft a boilerplate Orion capsule up to speed and altitude in order to test the escape tower in flight.

Similarly, Minotaur rockets are basically Minuteman missiles with some extra stages to put a satellite into orbit.

Short of those technicalities, or being Really Lucky with getting enough notice to drive out to Lompoc for an out-of-the-blue missile test, the only way to for sure catch a Minuteman missile launch is If Used For Its Intended Purpose, and hopefully that never happens.
