i'm so tired of his shit, he's moving all of spacex's video feeds and broadcasts to twitter in something that absolutely has to be an antitrust violation at this point, right
i mean superficially twitter video isn't good, and has never been good, and i have to imagine it's gotta be fucking hilarious that all their high end video gear is gonna get mpeg-compressed to absolute illegibility because he wants to be the everything app
What are the consequences for rebroadcasting these feeds on other sites?
people have done it forever, like on twitch a lot of space folks will restream them with commentary
it's still monumentally stupid but totes in line with a man who thinks he is the lone saviour of humanity. I wish he had nothing to do with SpaceX

Because if there’s anything that space aficionados are known for, it’s being satisfied with blurry, low resolution image quality, right?
oh i've been talking with some friends in the aerosapce media and they're not happy abouut this either. you might think "hey, power vacuum, the outlets like NSF and SFN are gonna be able to seize on this" but like, their streams, even as they have their own cameras, still rely on the SpaceX stream for onboards, and there's no way to set that up with twitter video before it goes live lol. SpaceX doesn't do media feeds unless they can be arm twisted into it for named launches, not just starlinks
the only folks that benefit from this decision are the fraud channels that pretend to be spacex and rebroadcast the wrong stream at any hour just to make a quick buck off people who don't realize they're beeing fooled
