i want to fucking scream and beat on my computer like its the car in street fighter or whatever

i was tryin to join the coolstation party so i woke my desktop up

it is fundamentally unable to actually connect to the internet all of a sudden, since resuming from that hibernation. no amount of reboots of the computer (a combination of nice via the button, and mean via pulling the power cord/holding down the button/switching off the power supply) nor even of the modem and router, have gotten it to have any meaningful throughput to the internet. everything is timing out and bandwidth is piss nothing

do not attempt to troubleshoot me unless you want to be the target of my ire, the problem is as much "this 2015 budget build PC with windows 8 on it should have been replaced years ago but i've been broke this whole time" as it is this specific technical issue manifesting as a result of it

Hey friend, I'm going to be in possession of a few spare laptops in the next few months. They're gently-used business laptops from 2017 or 2018. No longer good for business stuff, but just fine for light to moderate computing. Would you be able to benefit from me sending you one, possibly?

I honestly don't know at this point. I appreciate the sentiment and the offer, but I blew all my patience and capacity for rational thought staring at speedtest instances and waiting 5 minutes for every fruitless restart

and it doesn't overly solve the issue where i wanted to hang out with folks tonight and now cannot which has completely fucked my head over

but i do appreciate it
