The state wants to RICO to criminalize not just people at the protest, but people who handed out flyers in support, participated in mutual aid efforts, and vocalized ACAB. The consequence of this being successful would mean this tactic would be used for every protest large enough to accomplish anything. Imagine living in an even more restrictive police state than we're already in. It will have a chilling effect on mutual aid because people will be afraid that they'll be arrested for action they never took part it.
