if I'm understanding this right servers now default to allowing anyone to add emoji and the ilk, and this permission was retroactively applied to existing servers. I'm seeing a few servers I'm in letting me add emoji now, and reports that it's happened to servers which are not under the 50 member count the update mentions. check your permissions!
the best part is discord actually seems to have done this change weeks ago but most people are only seeing the changelog today.

thank you for the heads up, i just checked on a couple friend servers and i had permissions that i dont want, this is SO DUMB
i don't even... see where the settings are that allow people to add stickers and shit, i'm going and trying to turn it off
"create expressions" what the hell is that
that's the one you want, everything seems to have gotten shoved into that singular category when iirc it was split apart into manage emoji, create events, etc.
obviously anyone with permissions to create an "event" (lit. just a calendar entry) should have access to modify and fuck with emojis!!!! im discord please pay me $123851250/mnth
