Which piece are you most proud of?

that's a tough one, anon! i like a lot of my art, for varying reasons!

if i'm picking one that's made proud overall, in terms of effort put in, techniques used, and loving the outcome, though, then the one that comes to mind is this piece titled Sun.

this painting was done in march 2020, just a week after the pandemic lockdown began in my area, and is a tribute to Vincent van Gogh's work. the character featured, Vin, is herself inspired by van Gogh's visual style, with patterns of dots, swirls, and spirals in her fur mimicking his brush strokes.

i really challenged myself with this piece by treating it like a physical painting - there was no line work, minimal layers involved, and i limited myself to using the oil and gouche brushes i had in csp in order to emulate the style. personally, i think the final piece is astonishing, and i'm not sure if i could do it again...it just sort of, happened in the moment, a result of suddenly finding myself with excess free time at home.

i'd love to get this piece printed one day, perhaps on canvas or something nicer, and then frame it up on my wall uwu
