I'm out here shilling id Tech 4 but cautioning that it doesn't have fancy modern gamedev trappings like node graphs, and some gremlin from our server added fucking node graphs

It's at the tail of the RBDOOM github page, but I gotta put out a caution that a few of the other server denizens can be... a bit special at times, and my experience there has generated a lot of sighing and eye-rolling.
If you can just shrug at some of that bullshit, then you should be fine
