I was so busy this weekend I barely had time to do the photo prompt. I ended up going out to one of my favorite wetlands to visit one of my favorite Weird Things: the pump station at Jackson Bottom Wetlands in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Wabi Sabi is the idea of embracing imperfection and impermanence. For this I tried to emphasize the Wrongness of this pump station amidst the trees and grass of this wetlands area. How it is rotting away even though it is being actively maintained. There is duct tape on random things. Rust on others. Someone is doing their best to maintain it despite the lightly inhospitable climate. And there is a beauty to the war between the two.
